QPR boss Mark Hughes has offered a lifeline to forgotten man DJ Campbell.
The Hammersmith-born hitman has been frozen out at Loftus Road and was shipped out on a three-month loan to Championship outfit Ipswich Town last week.
Campbell scored on his debut for the Tractor Boys in Saturday's defeat to Ipswich, and has refused to rule out a permanent switch to Portman Road.
The 30-year-old has only featured twice since Hughes took over in January and is in the final 12 months of his contract in W12.
But with a long-term injury to fellow frontman Andy Johnson, Hughes admits Campbell could return to the fold in the new year.
“We're looking at all our options,” the Welshman told the Chronicle.
“Obviously DJ's not played for us but circumstances change very quickly in football and fortunes of players and clubs change very quickly.
“DJ needs to go and get some games, but you never say never in this game.”
