FOUR-times champion Lleyton Hewitt fell at the first hurdle of the AEGON Championships as he was brushed aside by Ivo Karlovic on Tuesday.

The former world No.1 – a wildcard entry into the event at the Queen's Club – was sent crashing out as the 16th seed Croatian triumphed 6-3, 6-2 on centre court.

Marco Baghdatis is also through to round two after seeing off Frederico Gil in three sets, while 10th seed David Nalbandian beat Vasek Pospisil 6-2 in the final set.

Meanwhile, Jamie Baker set up a second round clash with world No.5 Jo-Wilfred Tsonga after defeating fellow Brit Oliver Golding in straight sets.

Andy Murray will face Nicolas Mahut tomorrow after the Frenchman beat Guillemo Garcia-Lopez, but fellow Brits James Ward and Liam Broady didn't make it through.
