SAMBA Diakite faces a race against time to be fit for Sunday's clash with Spurs.
The QPR midfielder hasn't featured since the draw at Norwich at the end of August after returning to France for personal reasons.
Diakite is back training at the club's Harlington headquarters, but was not ready in time to be in contention for the weekend's derby draw with Chelsea.
And Mark Hughes admits the Mali international only has an outside chance of being fit for Sunday's trip to White Hart Lane.
When asked if Diakite would be ready for the clash, the Rangers boss said: “Possibly. I would imagine he might be available for the Reading game.
“We're just trying to get him up to speed. He's one of a number of players who aren't at the level yet.”
