QPR are set to win the race for Blackburn Rovers winger Junior Hoilett, the Chronicle understands.

Rangers, Newcastle United and Sunderland are all interested in the 22-year-old, who is out of contract at Ewood Park.

Hoilett was due to hold discussions with German outfit Borussia Monchengladbach over the weekend as he weighs up his options.

However, it is understood the Canadian has opted to join the Hoops instead.

Rangers will have to pay Blackburn compensation for Hoilett, who came through the youth set-up at Rovers, as he is under 24.
