EDEN Hazard is just the player Blues have been looking for, according to Branislav Ivanovic.
Hazard starred in Sunday's 2-0 win at Wigan, courtesy of Ivanovic's early opener and a Frank Lampard penalty.
The Serbian ran on to a Hazard ball, less than two minutes into yesterday's match, to rifle home the opening goal of Chelsea's new season campaign.
Ivanovic said of his new team-mate: “I think he is great, he had a great performance. He was really the player that we needed in the team.
“But also it is not (just) individually: (it is about) how we work defensively and how we're going to work all together.
“If we are going to be like a group, the individual quality Eden has is going to be better and better and we will make better results.”
Ivanovic also had positive words about Oscar, who only joined up with Chelsea or training on Thursday, and put in a half-hour cameo on Sunday.
“I think he is great,” said Ivanovic. “Of what I've seen in just a couple of days: great performance, great views of the game.
“He's young, so we get something special with him.”
