CHELSEA are counting the cost of a 1-0 FA Cup win over QPR when midfielder Ramires was ruled out for up to a month with what is believed to be a medial ligament injury.
The Brazilian (pic) picked up the injury in the fourth round tie at Loftus Road today when what looked like an innocuous goalmouth clearance struck him, and he twisted his knee on falling to the ground.
Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas said: “It looks like a medial ligament injury – not so bad in terms of the knee injuries.
“He'll have the MRI tomorrow, and we'll know the full extent. I think hopefully he is going to avoid an operation.”
He ruled the midfielder out of Chelsea's trip to Swansea on Tuesday, and said the player could be sidelined for up to four weeks.
