Chelsea 2-0 Blackburn Rovers
BRANISLAV Ivanovic scored one and set up the other as Chelsea eased to victory against Blackburn.
He broke the deadlock early after the half-time interval before turning provider for Nicolas Anelka to add a second to wrap up victory at Stamford Bridge.
The hosts dominated from the off, with Ramires almost giving them the lead inside two minutes, only to see his effort clip the top of the bar.
However, there was a warning at the other end as Petr Cech was forced into action to keep out David Hoilett's shot.
The woodwork came to Rovers' rescue again five minutes before the break, Anelka this time the man denied.
But Chelsea's relentless pressure eventually paid off early in the second-half.
John Terry flicked on Florent Malouda's corner, and Ivanovic was on hand to fire his shot through a wall of bodies past Paul Robinson.
The Serbian defender also had a hand in Carlo Ancelotti's side's second 15 minutes from time when his goalbound header was flicked in by Anelka from close range as the Blues ran out comfortable winners.
