MARTIN Jol remains hopeful of keeping Brede Hangeland at Fulham beyond the end of the season as contract talks rumble on.
The giant Norwegian defender is in the final year of his deal at Craven Cottage and has so far refused to sign the extension on the table.
Hangeland can walk away for nothing in the summer, but Jol hasn't given up hope of his skipper staying in SW6.
“It's always the same with negotiations,” he said, “they are going on and hopefully something will come off.
“[Chief executive] Alistair [Mackintosh] is doing the negotiations and he will tell me straight away if something happens.”
