MARTIN Jol admits Fulham may be forced to adapt their system following the departure of Moussa Dembele.
The Belgian star left Craven Cottage last week after Spurs triggered the £15million release clause in his contract, while Clint Dempsey also followed him to White Hart Lane on deadline day.
Fulham were short of options in the middle of the park for Saturday's defeat at West Ham, with new signing Kieran Richardson deployed in a central midfield position alongside Steve Sidwell and Mahamadou Diarra.
The Whites have bolstered their squad with the arrival of Dimitar Berbatov from Manchester United, but Jol hinted he may have to change his system to get the best out of the players at his disposal.
He said: “Dembele is in the same mould as Berbatov and you will see that in the future. He's one of the best players in the Premiership. Clint is more of a goalscorer, getting on the end of things in the box.
“You build teams around good players and Berbatov is quality. When I saw him I missed it for a couple of years but saw it again.
“We have to find the right balance. If Bryan Ruiz comes back we will be okay. Maybe we have to change the system because with Dembele it was different.”
