ALEX Kacaniklic has emerged as a shock contender for Sweden's squad for Euro 2012.
The 20-year-old has made just three appearances for the Fulham first-team since returning from a successful spell on loan at Championship outfit Watford at the end of March.
But Sweden national coach Erik Hamren is short of options on the left flank, and is seriously considering the former Liverpool youngster for the tournament.
Hamren watched Kacaniklic in the win at Bolton earlier this month after receiving good reports on his debut against Norwich a week earlier.
And the 54-year-old has asked Whites boss Martin Jol to keep him informed of his progress for the rest of the season.
If Kacaniklic gets the nod, he will join Fulham team-mates Stephen Kelly and Damien Duff in Ukraine and Poland.
