CLINT Dempsey hopes team-mate Andy Johnson signs an extension to his contract – especially after the latter’s first Premiership hat-trick against hapless Rangers last weekend.
The former England frontman is in the final 12 months of his deal at Craven Cottage, and has yet to sign the two-year extension on the table.
But Dempsey is desperate for AJ to stay in SW6.
He said: “That’s not for me to make that decision. But AJ’s a goal scorer and he’s good to have around, and hopefully that will be the case for some time to come.
“He also like to have a laugh and I respect him for the fact he’s had some tough injuries and fought back from them.”
